Post Ref: CC048
Calderdale has long been a place of welcome to people seeking a new life of safety in the UK and has been part of the national asylum dispersal scheme since its inception. Our Neighbourhoods & Cohesion Team want to ensure that those who are vulnerable and seeking sanctuary can access the support that is available for them from the Council as well as our partners in the health, voluntary and faith sectors.
This role will work with colleagues across the Council, external organisations and key partners including health, education and the voluntary, community and faith sectors to develop and sustain strong and effective working relationships and partnership working. The post will lead on a range of support responses across asylum, refugee and migration programmes.
Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience of partnership and multi-agency working and a good understanding of the asylum and immigration systems in the UK. You will have experience of working with new migrants including those seeking asylum, familiarity with the challenges that they face and a commitment to diversity and the valued contribution that new migrants bring to our borough.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.
