Post Ref: FWP623We wish to appoint a Housing Support Worker to support Syrian families welcomed into Calderdale under the Vulnerable Person's Re-Settlement Scheme.
The person appointed will help the families move into their new home; manage their tenancies; apply for state benefits; secure health, education and other services and integrate into their local communities. The successful applicant will have experience of family support work, knowledge of the welfare benefits system, knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience of interpreting in either a paid or voluntary capacity. S/he must also have a full UK driving licence and the use of a vehicle for work purposes.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS (formerly CRB) from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
