Calderdale Council is the most improved adult social services Directorate in Yorkshire Humber. Our work has been nationally recognised winning a series of awards in recent years. We currently have an opportunity, which we have ring-fenced for Newly Qualified Social Workers, to join our Older People's Social Work Team based in the Upper Valley Area.
The Upper Valley is a beautiful location to work, with a mixture of small Towns like Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge, and stunning countryside which covers a vast area.
You will join an experienced and supportive team, undertaking Care Act Assessments and enabling self-directed support. The team are committed to the ethos of Asset Based social work and strive to enable people to connect with communities, building on their own strengths, whilst also making strong links with other professionals and organisations to promote health and wellbeing.
The team are strong advocates of Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights, ensuring that human rights of individuals are at the forefront of service delivery and that adult and older people remain in control of their lives and are supported to make choices that enable their independence wherever possible.
The team works in genuine partnership with people, their families and carers as well as the voluntary sector.
The contribution that Newly Qualified Social Workers make to the profession and to people's lives is considerable. As such Newly Qualified Social Workers receive extensive Continuous Professional Development.
