Social Worker/Specialist Practitioner (Emergency Duty Team)

The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced social worker who would be willing to complete casual shifts.
We are looking for a social worker with a high degree of experience, independence and self motivation to work as part of a small team. The post holder will be expected to work on a rota basis to provide an emergency
out of hour’s social work response to all client groups across Calderdale.
We are looking for Social workers who have experience of working in both Children and Adult services.
You will be a qualified social worker with demonstrable experience in a variety of statutory social work settings.
Applicants from social workers with an approved mental health professional (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act Qualification are welcome.
The post is currently based at Battinson Road, Halifax. You will need to work independently and to a high standard with a minimum of supervision whilst on shift and have the confidence and ability to undertake complex assessments and make decisions appropriate to role whilst under pressure.
The successful applicant will be joining a well established but friendly and supportive team.
Calderdale Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed. This role is subject to a DBS check.
