Transport Services provides Fleet Management services for the Council’s fleet of 200+ vehicles including vehicle maintenance, driver training, and vehicle compliance. The service also provides a passenger transport service for children with special educational needs or disabilities, older people and adults with disabilities.

We are looking to recruit a Transport Support Assistant.
You will be required to provide support within the Transport Support & Fleet Management Team, ensuring service delivery is met.
You will be responsible for inputting, updating and maintaining manual and computerised systems, files and records. You will also provide reception cover, assisting colleagues with their enquiries, liaising with external suppliers for updates on outsourced jobs or orders and updating the Vehicle Services Manager where required. You will also be required to process and deliver orders/invoices via the Councils Financial System, along with updating, maintaining and monitoring other electronic systems within the service area.
We are seeking an individual who has good IT and communications skills. The successful applicant will need to be able to work under pressure and work flexibly as well as been able to prioritise workloads. Previous experience of working in a busy office and meeting strict deadlines would be desirable, but not essential.
The postholder will work under the Council’s Flexitime Scheme, however, the role requires the office to be covered between 08.00-17.00 Mon – Fri, so a rota system is in place to cover the working day.
