Post Ref: ACS158
An excellent opportunity has arisen and we are currently looking for a Social Worker (Newly Qualified, Level 2 or Level 3) to join the Lower Valley Adult Social Work Team. We are a small frontline team currently based in Elland which provides social work support to people aged 65 years and over, although some people will be younger than this.
As a team we strive to uphold and promote human rights and undertake strengths-based person-centred practice. We seek to promote wellbeing, independence and resilience by working in partnership with individuals that use services, their families and their representatives. We recognise people as experts on their own lives and believe everyone has the right to live their life free from abuse and neglect. We value community and work jointly with partners including the police, health services and housing departments to achieve better outcomes for the people we work with.
Candidates will have a sound working knowledge of The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Care Act 2014, Adult Safeguarding policy and procedure, and the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care. It is essential that the post holder has a thorough understanding of empowerment and risk enablement. Excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to prioritise under pressure.
Applicants will have relevant experience and hold a professional social work qualification, or be working towards and nearing completion of a social work qualification (CQSW, Dip SW, CSS, Social Work degree or equivalent). In order to practice as a Social Worker you must be registered with the HCPC.
