We have transformed social work services for children and young people in Calderdale. Following the principles of Systemic social work practice, our locality teams are organised into small social work pods comprising a practice manager who manages the pod, four social workers and a pod coordinator, who takes off the admin pressure. Caseloads are well managed and members of the pod share case responsibility. Our therapeutic service provides support to the pods regularly facilitating the weekly group reflective supervision. The pods specialise either in children in need and child protection work, or work with children in care.
Everything's changed here at Calderdale, our practice has been recognised by the DfE for permanency planning and our early intervention support is well embedded. All we ask is that you are a qualified social worker (BA/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent), have a driving licence and access to a car and are registered with HCPC. To be successful you must be able to demonstrate post qualifying experience gained within statutory children and families service.
